Why is Nintendo wii still impossible to find?
Im in wisconsin and just took a trip up north from milwaukee to past wausau and stopped at every single best buy, walmart, sams club on the way and same thing everytime, no wii and no clue when they will get any in, we stopped at least to 20 differant stores over the 290(ish) mile stretch with ZERO luck in finding a wii console.... (we were trying to find one to play with up north once we got there)
what gives?
They don't make enough to keep up with demand.
We looked for one from Oct 2007 until Feb 2008 before we found one (kids got all kinds of games and accessories for Christmas, and no Wii to use them). I called stores every single day and was on waiting lists for stores that had them. I was annoying the crap out of everyone on my list to call, lol.
Finally one day, in an ice storm I caught a break. I called the local Walmart and they didn't have any but the guy told me he heard that an EB Games 30 minutes away got a delivery that day. I called them and sure enough, they had 3 left. My husband drove in the ice storm to get it. It was pure fluke that he made it on time. The customer before him wanted one too and was told by the worker that they were sold out. He left, then my husband if they'd get another shipment soon and a different guy told him that there was 1 left on the back. The first worker had no idea.
I usually see a lot of them sitting on shelves by April. But yeah, even years after the release, they are sold out everywhere during the busy season.
