Inquiry about Filipino- American WWII Veteran's recent benefit?
I am a daughter of a still living 94 years old World war II Fil-Am military veteran. I am now here in the USA, and planning to bring my children here who are now in their college level. I wish to know of some opportunities where I could avail of any veteran benefits for the free education of my children here.Any advise please??? If there's any...what course of action shall i take?
There is a one time payment of $9,000 to those WWII veterans that are still living for those in the Philippines or $15,000 for those living in the USA. There are no educational or other benefits. Just a one time cash payment. There are places all over the Philippines usually at the provincial capital where he can apply or make arrangements for someone to come out and see your father and verify his service. There is 11 months left window to apply.
So what you need to do is have a trusted family member notify and provide the service info on your father so a representative can go to your home and verify his service in person. At 94 I doubt he is in any condition to travel.
