Game console question, looking for tips?

I don't really have much money, but I really like guitar hero and rock band.

So I'd like to buy a console, I'd go for the wii cause I also want to buy the clone wars game but they're virtually impossible to find, and they're not so cheap anymore with bundles being the only ones available.

In any case, I'd like to know what gamers can recommend. This are the options I have in mind:
playstation 2, xbox arcade, wii (even if it's a bit pricey for me right now).

If with playstation or xbox arcade which are cheaper I can get the same fun in rock band and guitar hero and their future versions I'd go for one of those.

So which should I buy, if you can explain why that'd be great. And also, is clone wars with the lightsaber controls coming to any other console?
So, there isn't Guitar Hero or Rock Star for playstation 2?

Out of your 3 choices, I would have the PS2.

I'm not a fan of the Wii, I personally don't think it's a real games console (I'm just like that). However, I know plenty of people who have chosen the Wii over both the 360 and PS3, and love it - they've even got the Wii Fit. If you're into sports, then I would suggest getting the Wii... It's a great system for sports games (like tennis and the like).

The arcade is the same as the normal 360 but with no HDD - which is what you need really (it saves your games etc). For this reason I wouldn't get the 360, since you'll want to be able to save your games. Another reason that I wouldn't get the arcade is that there is always the possibility of the RRoD - although they have "fixed" it, it can still happen... Okay, so they fix it for free - you'll still miss it while it's gone, trust me.

You might ask "Why the PS2? It's so old... Surely it can't be any good?" that's where you'd be wrong. Out of all of the "older" consoles, the second best is the PS2 - the best is the Sega Megadrive, but don't worry about that. The PS2 is the cheaper of the 3 options, when mine broke I picked one up with controllers and games for around £100 - and the price may have dropped since then, I'm not sure.

However as far as I'm aware you can't get GH games, RB or the clone wars lightsaber thing (this is the first I heard about it). The best thing about the PS2, for me, is the choice of FPS games... Call of duty and whatnot.

If you're certain that you want to play games like GH, RB and this clone wars thing, then I would get the Wii... It's an odd choice, but I don't think the xBox arcade will cut it. You know for a fact that you can get this lightsaber thing on the Wii, and there's also other games that are fun for it.

You might feel that you don't agree with what I've said - not many people will. But if I were you, I would get the Wii... Even if you can't afford it right now (I would just save up). I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever system you end up getting, they all have their own advantages.
