Do I need a Gamecube Controller for the Wii?
I am a little bored currently with my wii but I realised that I could try something completely different - gamecube games. Do I need a gamecube controller for these or will the regular wii remotes work?
Also, I am a 16-year-old girl who likes games like the sims and animal crossing and mario kart and super smash bros brawl. Any suggested games for me?
P.S. Best answers should answer both questions.
Wii remotes are not compatible with old gamecube releases. However, nintendo has remade some gamecube games on the wii with their "New Play Control" series. Here is a website if you might be interested in playing some classic gamecube games optimized for the wii.

The "New Play Control" games are all $30. Mario Power Tennis has very bad controls though, in my opinion, but Pikmin and Donkey Kong: JungleBeat improve upon the original titles with the new wii controls, so you might want to check those out.
If you would like to buy the old gamecube games, the wii remotes will not be compatible with those. You'll have to buy a gamecube controller. The good new is, they are fairly cheap. They are only $15, and they are compatible with your Super Smash Bros. Brawl game, Mariokart Wii, and possibly Animal Crossing: City Folk (I don't have ACCF, so I wouldn't know). Who knows, you may like the gamecube controllers better than a wii wheel, or the control you use in Super Smash Bros. One more thing I'd like to mention, if you are planning to buy Super Nintendo games or N64 games on the Virtual Console on the Wii Shop Channel, the gamecube controller will be compatible with them.
